‘Problems are solutions;
they want to be understood, not solved…’
Anton de Kroon
This quote was an eye-opener for me. It opened the gateway to the next level of facilitation, beyond the solution oriented approach. Second order intervention produce insights about why things are as they are. They provide solution space, not solutions.
As former trainer of family- and organization constellations I noticed that second order interventions are one of the hardest to learn. It requires actively entering the sometimes dark arena of the un-known. This is a completely different piece of cake then the empty centre of not-knowing. During second order interventions you are completely on your own. Yes, for many of us, including me, a scary place to be.
During the workshop I will explain the theory of first-, second- and third order interventions. I will demonstrate (and maybe fail) and offer exercises in smaller groups how to be in a state to do a second order intervention. It will be a workshop with a lot of learning potential. Be prepared to act!
This workshop, however is by Jan Jacob Stam & Dees van de Hoef.
The spoken language during this workshop will be in English.
Ever tried? Ever failed? No matter…
Try again, Fail again, Fail better!
Samuel Beckett

People are constantly evolving. With each other, without each other. In families, in teams, in organizations. Systemic thinking makes us aware of the “why” of our being and doing. Organizational and family constellations create room for movement. The BHI provides courses, workshops and training programs in the field of systemic work, constellations, leadership and coaching. This is how we contribute to the development of people, organizations and society.
